shower time!

A few weeks ago I went to Houston for my bridal shower.  My mom, some of her friends, and my lovely bridesmaids threw me a fabulous party.  It was so wonderful to celebrate our wedding with some of my closest friends and family!  I also got enough loot to fill up over half of our living room.  (I guess that means that I either got a lot of gifts or our living room is really small.)

We had a mimosa bar, some lovely snacks and brunch foods, and we played a few games that were anything but cheesy.  My mom had advice cards for everyone to fill out, and it was fun to read what everyone said.  We also played "Bridal Bingo" while I was opening gifts, and my guests got to fill in a crossword puzzle about Austin and me.

It was a really nice afternoon, so thanks to everyone who came and made my day so special!

Something else cool about my shower was that it was the same day as my grandma's birthday!  I'm glad she didn't mind me stealing her birthday thunder.  We went to dinner later that night and had a fiesta to celebrate.

Ole!

In other wedding news, Austin and I got to help some of our good friends celebrate their big day two weekends ago!  Eric and Stephanie got married in Austin and then had their reception right by The Salt Lick.  The wedding was beautiful, the food was delicious, and the dancing was a blast.  Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Sawyer!!

And since we were in Austin, we obviously had to stop at my favorite spot, Gordough's!  We had delicious doughnuts and then hit the road.  It was a great weekend!

  1. Are you getting crazy excited yet? It's almost wedding time!

The shower looks like it was so fun. I know that showers can get a little awkward (sigh, shower games), but I'm not one to say no to free food or presents!
